Harris County Commissioners Court reappointed Port of Houston Authority Commissioner Clyde Fitzgerald Dec. 20. Fitzgerald serves on the Port Authority’s Audit committee and chairs the Pension and Benefits Committee. He joined the Port Commission in 2013.

“Clyde Fitzgerald is an excellent Commissioner who works for the best interest of the Port of Houston and the Port of Houston Authority,” stated Port Commission Chairman Janiece Longoria. “I am thrilled to have his continued leadership and support on the Commission.”

Fitzgerald is a veteran of the Port of Houston and the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), and he worked with his father on the docks of the Houston Ship Channel at a young age. He is currently a member of the ILA’s Executive Council, and has served as President and of the ILA Local 28 and President Emeritus of the ILA South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District prior to that role.

He is actively involved with many transportation, trade and labor organizations.
